Redesign the Joy Back into you(r) Business!
19th May 2022Since 2020 we have been switching between online and office working conditions, and with these 2 (extremely different) working conditions comes various ways in which you can market and grow your business. 2 years down the line, things have definitely become a little more certain and it seems many businesses – perhaps even your own – have chosen to operate digitally! We’re literally living the futures we dreamed about when we were younger…
Because of this dramatic growth in digital platforms and ‘online-only’ businesses, various new marketing strategies have been on the rise, and we are here to share them with you!
1. The rise of the ‘influencer’
If you have any kind of social media app on any device at this very moment, there is an extremely good chance that you are following someone known as an influencer. These people have most likely gained your trust over an extended period of time, right? Therefore, if they promote a new ‘life-changing’ product, wouldn’t you want to try it out? The answer is probably yes, and businesses need to start to take advantage of the trust that influencers have with their audiences to promote and sell their products!
2. Personalisation – to win your consumers hearts
If given the option, would you rather buy a product from an advert that speaks of surface level, material reasons to buy a product, or from an advert telling a story that you can relate to on a personal level? Probably, option 2! Relating to and sharing a connection with the person/company promoting a product or service immediately hooks you, and makes you feel like you need that particular product or service as much as the promoter does. How does that saying go? Wearing your heart on your sleeve gets the business going? No..? Well then, we just made up a great saying!
3. Video-based content creation
We have a question for you – how many online events/meetings/launches have you attended over the past 2 years? 4 million? That sounds about right! Whether we like it or not, video-based platforms and apps (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) are used on an almost daily basis by many companies, and all the larger social media apps (such as Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok) are either largely based on, or introducing, video-based content creation. Since the majority of companies target audiences are millennials or Gen-z, you yourself can hop onto this trend and promote your business through creating fun, trendy videos!
4. Easily consumed content
Mindless and endless scrolling on apps like Tik Tok has certainly increased the need for content wanting to be consumed almost ‘effortlessly’. Long paragraphs, 10-minute videos, and a bunch of fancy words are no match for 5-10 second videos that portray the exact same message with half the effort! Using eye-catching visuals, short descriptions, and catchy headings will definitely draw the attention of Gen Z’ers – the dominators of social media – and boost views on whatever it is you are promoting.
5. Virtual reality and Augmented reality
Facebook, or should I say ‘Meta’, has already got a head start on the virtual reality trend and many companies are following not too far behind. Meta uses virtual reality to create simulations that people can see and quickly get immersed in. Augmented reality (the easier one to pull off) creates virtual environments that people can interact with. A good example of augmented reality is the very famous ‘doggy face filter’ that made its debut on Snapchat in 2016 or the Pokémon Go craze. What are you waiting for? Go create the next big Tik Tok filter with your company’s name on it!
6. Adapting to the online marketplace
Have you heard of Cryptocurrency and Non-fungible tokens (NFT’s)? If yes, do you know what they mean? If you answered no to that previous question, then you better open up Google Chrome and get researching! The rise of cryptocurrency and NFT’s have challenged businesses to start concentrating on the online marketplace and this should motivate them to integrate these new concepts into future business strategies. Keeping up to date with trends will never do you harm!
And there you have it! Hopefully you have already drawn up a Marketing Strategy for 2022, so here are a few pointers to add to the list.
However…. If you don’t feel like doing the things we just listed (and we don’t blame you), give us a call and we can get it done for you! After all, our business is here to make your business better.
Have an amazing April!
