Have you ever heard that saying “Do what you love, and you don’t work a day in your life”? What a bunch Polony! No person in his right mind is so comfortable with spending 6-10 hours day-in day-out that does not become a “little” tired. And with becoming tired, one thing that can and most likely happens to us all, is you get tired. And with that the creativity tends to slip a little…so how do you keep yourself from losing your creativity? We’re going to share what will help you stay creative in your industry!
We all have a tendency to collect ideas and thought in our heads. This goes for planning goals or day-to-day actions. Stop that! Simply take 5 minutes in the morning and write them all down. Not only will you capture your first ideas but it makes space for new ideas too!
In my case we have to write a lot of verbiage for adverts etc. This helps us expand our own views and forces us to expand our imagination. Perhaps you always avoid helping Karen on her PowerPoint Presentation. Perhaps you can stop and help now. It helps to keep the “creative” speak going.
There are a few ways of doing this. Either subscribe to an industry that inspires you or throw on a YouTube video in the background. Is the software you are using getting an update? Throw a video in while you work that shows you the what’s and the how’s.
Similar to point one, but more detailed on your day-to-day basis.
Do you do the same thing day in, day out. Switch it up! Have your coffee earlier, take another route home. Listen to Billy Eilish today instead of Now 436. Changing habits mean the possibility of seeing new ideas.
Run, jog, cycle, just do some exercise and get the blood flowing! The Increased blood flow impacts your creativity positively!
Fresh air and open spaces will definitely inspire you!
So, you made your list as per point 1 and 4. What did you finish? Finishing things unclutters the mind and the thought process. So, do that – Finish wat you start!
Make time for it. What have you got to lose if you try something different as opposed to what works? If you pull off an experiment will you not feel more accomplished? Then do it!
What is your Competition doing? Can you do it better? Do this to create that edge that could spark a new idea or two.
Oh, and last but not least. Music is my go-to! I love music so much I am one of those weirdo’s who says my favourite music is all kinds of music, only to get caught with: “Even Country?” No, not even Country. I hope that helps and inspires you. Even if it is just a little!
